Bhubaneswar, May 16 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday called upon the state-owned Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) to expand its mining operations beyond Odisha and broaden its presence across other states in the country.
Addressing the 71st Foundation Day celebration of OMC, the Chief Minister urged the corporation to diversify its activities by leveraging its abundant raw material reserves not only for mining but also for industrialization and value-added development.
Highlighting OMC's remarkable growth journey, Majhi said the corporation, which began in the 1960s with a modest turnover of Rs 1 crore, has now achieved an impressive financial turnover of Rs 25,000 crore in the 2025-26 financial year.
