Bhubaneswar, June 23 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw following the approval for deployment of the indigenous train protection system Kavach across 631 route kilometres (km) of the East Coast Railway (ECoR).
In a post on social media platform X, the chief minister described the initiative as a significant milestone in strengthening rail infrastructure and passenger safety in the region.
Majhi said Odisha, being a crucial part of the East Coast Railway network, will benefit from enhanced passenger safety, reduced accident risks, improved train operations, and greater reliability of railway services.
