Bhubaneswar, May 9 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday ordered a Crime Branch investigation into the gruesome murder of a GRP constable in the Balianta mob lynching incident.

Expressing deep concern over the incident, the Chief Minister chaired a high-level review meeting today at Lok Seva Bhawan here and directed police to take the strictest action against those involved.

He asked the Crime Branch to conduct an impartial probe and ensure that all guilty persons are brought to justice without delay.

The Chief Minister also asked the Director General of Police Y.B. Khurania to remain alert and take effective preventive measures to avert recurrence of such incidents.
