Bhubaneswar, Aug. 1 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday expressed optimism that the long-pending Mahanadi water dispute with Chhattisgarh would be resolved within the next three months.
Talking to mediapersons on the sidelines of a briefing on the prevailing flood situation in the state, Majhi said a technical committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Chairman of the Central Water Commission (CWC) is expected to submit its report to the Mahanadi Water Disputes Tribunal within three months.
The Chief Minister said he was hopeful that the report would pave the way for an amicable settlement of the long-standing dispute between Odisha and Chhattisgarh over the sharing of Mahanadi river water.
