Bhubaneswar, Aug. 1 -- On the auspicious occasion of Sambalpuri Day, former Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan,Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi,and Biju Janata Dal President Naveen Patnaik have extended their heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people.
In a video message released on the occasion, Pradhan said that 14 years ago, a noble tradition was started to celebrate August 1, the birth anniversary of the late Guru Satyanarayan Bohidar, a pioneering figure in Sambalpuri language and literature, as Sambalpuri Day.
He noted that intellectuals, citizens, and particularly the youth of Sambalpur have been observing the day with great enthusiasm every year.
