Bhubaneswar, June 8 -- The Odisha Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, on Monday approved the implementation of the Waterfront Development Scheme, a major initiative aimed at rejuvenating riverfronts and urban water bodies across the state.

The scheme will be implemented with a total outlay of Rs.500 crore over a five-year period.

Briefing reporters after the Cabinet meeting, Chief Secretary Anu Garg said the scheme seeks to transform selected riverfronts and urban water bodies into vibrant, accessible and environmentally sustainable public spaces.
