Bhubaneswar, July 14 -- The Odisha Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, on Tuesday approved a proposal to repeal the Odisha Agricultural Produce Markets (OAPM) Act, 1956, and enact a comprehensive new agricultural marketing law aimed at creating a liberal, competitive and farmer-centric marketing ecosystem in the state.
The proposal, moved by the Cooperation Department, seeks to overhaul the existing agricultural marketing framework and provide farmers with greater marketing freedom, wider market access and improved price realisation.
