Bhubaneswar, July 10 -- In a landmark judgment aimed at protecting temple properties, the Member of the Odisha Board of Revenue has directed the Jatni Tahsildar to correct the current Record of Rights (RoR) of a disputed land parcel by recording it in the name of Lord Jagannath Bije, Puri, represented by the Shri Jagannath Temple Managing Committee.
Allowing two long-pending revision petitions, Member of the Board of Revenue Satyabrata Sahu ruled that the existing RoR, prepared on the basis of an invalid lease transaction, was legally unsustainable and ordered its immediate correction.
