Bhubaneswar, July 31 -- Citing the severe flood situation triggered by incessant monsoon rains across Odisha, the ruling BJP on Friday urged the Election Commission to extend the deadline for filing claims and objections under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls.
State BJP Vice-President Jatin Mohanty said the prevailing flood situation has severely hampered the participation of Booth Level Officers (BLOs), election officials, political party representatives, and volunteers in the electoral roll revision process.
