Bhubaneswar, Oct. 29 -- The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Thursday demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the alleged gang rape and murder of a 14-year-old schoolgirl in Jaleswar area of Balasore district, alleging police negligence and political interference in the case.
Addressing a press conference, BJD Senior General Secretary and National Spokesperson Dr. Lekhasree Samantsinghar and MLA Ashwini Patra expressed deep anguish over the incident and called for a transparent and impartial investigation to establish the truth and ensure justice for the victim's family.
