Bhubaneswar, Sept. 28 -- The Odisha Assembly was adjourned sine die on Monday, four working days ahead of schedule, amid a prolonged Opposition protest over the MMDR Act amendment and textbook errors, bringing the stormy Monsoon Session to an abrupt end without the participation of the BJD and Congress members.
The House, which had commenced its Monsoon Session on September 22 and was scheduled to continue till October 3 with nine official working days, was curtailed following a motion moved by ruling party Chief Whip Saroj Kumar Pradhan, citing the worsening rain and flood situation in several parts of the state under the influence of a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal.
