Bhubaneswar, Sept. 2 -- Odisha has brought 3.2 lakh hectares of farmland under irrigation in the past two years, with the State approving water infrastructure projects worth Rs 54,000 crore as it steps up efforts to strengthen water security and agricultural resilience, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said on Wednesday.
Speaking at a departmental summit organised by the union Ministry of Jal Shakti in New Delhi, Majhi said the State Government has accorded top priority to water security and irrigation development, particularly in view of Odisha's agriculture-dependent economy.
