Bhubaneswar, March 24 -- The Odisha government on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the union Ministry of Jal Shakti for the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0 across the state.

The programme was conducted virtually, with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi attending from Lok Seva Bhavan in Bhubaneswar, while union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil and Minister of State B. Somanah joined from New Delhi.

Addressing the event, the Chief Minister highlighted that the mission has significantly transformed the lives of women by eliminating the need to travel long distances to fetch drinking water. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for launching the Jal Jeevan Mission under his leadership.
