Kendrapara, March 19 -- At least 30 people, including women and children, fell ill after consuming dalma served during a religious function in Nuagaon village under Ward No. 10 of Pattamundai municipality in Odisha's Kendrapara district.
The incident occurred on Wednesday night during a "Bhagabat Parayan" event, where prasad had been arranged for nearly 400 attendees.
After the ritual concluded, villagers began eating the food when a shocking discovery was made-a dead poisonous snake was found in the dalma.
Soon after consuming the dish, around 40 people reported feeling unwell and were rushed to the Pattamundai Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment.
