Bhubaneswar, Sept. 10 -- In a poignant gesture of compassion, the family of a brain-stem-dead teacher from Cuttack district donated the deceased's liver and corneas at SUM Ultimate Medicare here, giving fresh hope to patients awaiting organ transplants.
The teacher, a resident of Dhansar village under Banki subdivision of Cuttack district, was admitted to the hospital in critical condition following a sudden medical emergency.
Despite the dedicated efforts of the medical and critical care teams and the provision of all possible treatment and supportive measures, the patient's condition continued to deteriorate.
