Bhubaneswar, May 22 -- Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Commissioner Chanchal Rana on Friday stressed the need for scalable, affordable and sustainable solutions for landfill remediation while highlighting the growing challenges of urban waste management.
Addressing the two-day International Workshop on Landfill Mining of Legacy Waste (Geoenvironment-2026), organised by the School of Infrastructure of Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar, Rana emphasized the importance of indigenous technologies, scientific waste characterization and circular economy approaches to tackle legacy waste issues.
