Bhubaneswar, July 23 -- The Odisha Government has substantially enhanced the financial powers of Urban Local Bodies for speeding up urban infrastructure development projects and doing away with procedural delays.
The Housing & Urban Development Department has notified a revised delegation of financial powers, which comes into immediate effect, replacing all earlier orders, notifications and memoranda on the subject.
A key feature of the reform is the decision to place the Managing Directors of Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL) and Rourkela Smart City Limited (RSCL) on par with Commissioners of Municipal Corporations in terms of financial authority.
