Bhubaneswar, Sept. 21 -- The 41st Dhenkanal Heritage Walk was held at Tapoban, the site associated with Mahima Swami's 24-year spiritual penance and the early history of Mahima Dharma in Odisha.
Shrimad Raghunath Baba, head of the Tapoban Mahima Ashram, briefed the participants on the site's history, the ashram and its festivals. Ascetics performed Mahima bhajans during the programme.
Mahima Dharma emerged in Odisha in the early 19th century and advocates worship of the 'Shunya' and the doctrine of Brahmaikavada, or the oneness of the Supreme Being. Its philosophy envisages a society free from caste, creed and social distinctions.
