Bhubaneswar, May 26 -- In a statewide crackdown on illegal betting operations during the ongoing IPL-2026 season, Odisha Police have arrested 18 persons and unearthed betting rackets operating across multiple districts.
The action, carried out under a coordinated anti-betting drive by Odisha Police, led to the registration of four separate cases and the seizure of substantial cash, vehicles and electronic gadgets allegedly used in the illegal trade.
According to the State Police Headquarters, police teams recovered Rs 36.85 lakh in cash during raids conducted in different districts. Besides, Rs 39.42 lakh lying in various bank accounts linked to betting activities has been frozen as part of the investigation.
