Kendrapada, Aug. 7 -- Ad-hoc Additional Sessions Judge of the Fast Track Special Court, Kendrapada, Tribikram Keshari Chinara, has sentenced a 21-year-old youth to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment in a minor rape case.
The court on Thursday convicted the accused under Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The court also directed the Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) to facilitate compensation of Rs 4 lakh to the survivor under the victim compensation scheme.
