Puri, April 21 -- A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in Satapara village under Brahmagiri police limits in Odisha's Puri district, police said on Tuesday.
According to police, a complaint in this connection was lodged by the victim's parents at Brahmagiri police station on Monday. The accused, identified as Sibaji Behera (21), allegedly took the child to his house while she was playing near her residence.
Police said the accused allegedly tied the minor's hands and sexually assaulted her before leaving her in an injured condition.
The girl was initially admitted to Rebena Nuagaon hospital and later shifted to the district headquarters hospital as her condition deteriorated.
