Bhubaneswar, July 15 -- The State Government on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Guru Padmasambhava Baudh Mahavihara, Jirang, to promote Buddhist heritage, spiritual tourism, research and cultural exchange and seeking to strengthen Odisha's identity as a global Buddhist destination.

The MoU, signed by the Departments of Tourism and Odia Language, Literature & Culture, provides a framework for developing Odisha's Buddhist circuit and enhancing its appeal as an international centre for pilgrimage, scholarship and experiential tourism.
