Bhubaneswar, June 25 -- Dubai-based Non-Resident Odia and acclaimed scuba diver Priyadarshee Panigrahi has added another remarkable chapter to his international underwater expeditions by successfully exploring the submerged Lockheed L-1011 TriStar passenger aircraft in Jordan's Red Sea.
The dive, undertaken last Sunday off the coast of Aqaba, Jordan's only coastal city,featured one of the world's most distinctive underwater aircraft wreck sites.
According to heritage expert and convenor of the Bhubaneswar chapter of INTACH, Anil Dhir, the 300-seater aircraft, measuring nearly 50 metres in length with an equal wingspan, originally entered commercial service in 1983.
