Dharamsala, June 13 -- Shubman Gill's unbeaten 84 guided India to a comfortable 7-wicket victory over Afghanistan in the opening ODI of the Afghanistan tour of India 2026 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium on Saturday, in a rain-curtailed contest reduced to 25 overs per side.

India chased down a target of 195 in 22.5 overs, riding on Gill's composure and KL Rahul's explosive finishing as they took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

Earlier, after India won the toss and opted to bowl, Afghanistan rode on a sensational innings from Rahmanullah Gurbaz to post 194 all out in 24.5 overs.
