Dharamshala, April 12 -- Ensuring safe, clean and quality food for women and children is essential to tackle malnutrition effectively, said Punjab Food Commission Chairman Bal Mukund Sharma and Himachal Pradesh Food Commission Chairman Dr. S.P. Katyal.
During an inspection of an Anganwadi Centre at Tang near Dharamshala, the two chairpersons stressed the need for strong inter-departmental coordination to address malnutrition and ensure the success of initiatives like "Mission Bharpur 2.0".
They noted that the second phase of the mission, launched on April 9 at the CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (IHBT), Palampur, aims to eliminate malnutrition among children below five years of age.
