Bengaluru, May 5 -- A 35-year-old nurse died after allegedly being assaulted by a man whose sexual advances she resisted in Karnataka's Hassan district, police said on Tuesday.
The incident was reported from Attihalli village in Sakleshpur taluk. The victim, identified as A.R. Ramya, had reportedly travelled from Bengaluru to attend her mother-in-law's funeral.
According to police, the accused, identified as 41-year-old Chandru, allegedly approached Ramya and made sexual advances towards her. Investigators said he allegedly assaulted her after she resisted and refused his demands.
Police sources said the woman sustained severe internal injuries in the assault and was admitted to Hassan District Hospital for treatment.
