Ranchi, May 10 -- The National Conference and Expo on Sustainable Mining and Ecological Restoration (NSMER) began here on Sunday, with speakers recalling the legacy of geologist Pramatha Nath Bose and stressing the need to balance mineral development with ecological restoration. The three-day event, being held from May 10 to 12 at the Indian Institute of Coal Management, is being organised by Vijnana Bharati Jharkhand in collaboration with the Central University of Jharkhand and other research institutions.
