Bengaluru, June 15 -- Novartis India on Monday announced the launch of Pluvicto (lutetium (177Lu) vipivotide tetraxetan), India's first regulatory authority-approved radioligand therapy for eligible patients with Prostate-Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA)-positive prostate cancer.

The company said Pluvicto is designed to precisely target prostate cancer cells while limiting exposure to healthy tissues, offering a new treatment option for patients with metastatic prostate cancer.

The launch comes amid a rising prostate cancer burden in India. According to Novartis, prostate cancer is among the top three cancers affecting urban men in the country, with nearly 250,000 cases reported annually. Around half of diagnosed patients present at a met...
