New Delhi, April 29 -- Addressing the House today during the special session and discussion on the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta said that the issue is not merely a matter of legislative procedure, but a question relating to the dignity, rights and representation of half of the country's population.
Gupta said that during the Special Session of the Lok Sabha, the Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill, 2026, relating to women's reservation, was discussed extensively as an important initiative, while expectations were raised across the country, and a positive outcome was anticipated.
