Bhubaneswar, May 21 -- Three people were killed and another critically injured after a severe Nor'wester storm lashed Naranpur area in Odisha's Keonjhar district on Thursday, causing widespread devastation.

According to sources, the victims were trapped under a tent structure that collapsed under the impact of strong winds accompanying the storm.

The injured person was rescued and admitted to hospital in critical condition.

Expressing deep grief over the tragedy, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families.

The Chief Minister also announced an ex gratia of Rs 4 lakh each from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund (CMRF) for the next of kin of the deceased.
