Chennai, July 28 -- Tamil Nadu Energy Minister CTR Nirmal Kumar on Tuesday said the Supreme Court has not permitted Karnataka to undertake any unilateral construction works for Mekedatu dam project across river Cauvery, while rejecting claims that there are no legal hurdles for TN to proceed on the matter.
Speaking to reporters after inspecting an energy research laboratory and storage systems at the IIT-Madras campus here, he said the state government is actively exploring all possible angles to stall the proposed Mekedatu balancing reservoir project, which Karnataka was hellbent on implementing it any cost.
