Chennai, Aug. 6 -- Standing in queues or sneaking into the crowd in the evenings or during day time on Sundays to get a preferred brand will soon become passe with the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC), the state-owned wholesale monopoly liquor retailer, launching the online booking facility on Thursday.
Henceforth, no need to return disappointed at the choicest brands not available. Customers can now check availability of stock on sale, book their brand, pay online and collect at the shop. Booking can be made at any TASMAC outlet across the state.
Though door delivery of liquor as in West Bengal and Odisha remains a distant one in this Dravidian heartland, this is seen as a step forward in retail liquor trade.
