Bengaluru, Aug. 28 -- Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara on Friday defended Minister B Nagendra amid renewed Opposition demands for his resignation over the Valmiki Corporation case, saying there was no basis for seeking his resignation.
Speaking to reporters here, Parameshwara said the Opposition was unnecessarily demanding Nagendra's resignation and pointed to the recovery of a substantial portion of the funds allegedly diverted from the corporation.
"We have repeatedly told them there is no need for him to resign. His name does not figure in the charge sheets filed by either the CBI or the ED, and no money has been recovered from him," he said.
