Kolkata, May 13 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Wednesday announced that harassment of potato farmers and small traders at inter-state borders would no longer be tolerated, marking a major policy shift aimed at reviving the state's agricultural trade and restoring confidence among growers and exporters.
Addressing the media from the state secretariat Nabanna, Adhikari alleged that farmers and small businessmen had suffered extensive harassment during the previous Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress regime, particularly those involved in the potato trade.
