Ravi SarafNew Delhi, July 15 -- Amid ongoing internal infighting within the Punjab Congress and speculation over a change in the state leadership, the party's Punjab in-charge, Bhupesh Baghel, has clarified that there is no proposal to replace the state Congress president for now.
Baghel met Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal at his residence on Tuesday to discuss the political situation in Punjab. Earlier, Punjab Leader of the Opposition and senior Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa also held a separate meeting with Venugopal.
The meetings focused on the current political scenario in the state, internal factionalism within the Punjab Congress, and the party's strategy for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections.
