Kolkata, May 6 -- The Kolkata Police has issued an advisory against using any hydraulic earth- moving equipment (JCB) and bulldozers at any victory rally in the city, commissioner Ajay Kumar Nand said on Wednesday.

"No JCBs will be allowed in any victory rally. We have told JCB owners not to rent these out for victory rallies. Any owner who does this will face legal action and we will seize the vehicle," Nand said.

The police commissioner's announcement came a day after videos of a victory rally taken out by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the New Market area gained traction on social media.

The videos showed the JCB razing several temporary structures in the area.
