Hyderabad, April 16 -- The Telangana government on Wednesday evening released its comprehensive social, economic, educational, employment, political and caste survey, placing the findings in the public domain and offering a detailed snapshot of the state's demographic composition.
BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar announced the release at a joint press conference at the Secretariat, along with Minister Vakiti Srihari and MLC and PCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud, in the presence of Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao.
The Minister said the report had already been discussed in the State Assembly and that the government had approached the Supreme Court seeking 42 per cent reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) based on its findings.
