Hyderabad, March 25 -- The Telangana Petroleum Dealers Association on Wednesday clarified that there is no shortage of fuel in the state and urged the public not to panic amid rumours circulating on social media.

In a press note, Association president M Amarender Reddy said false and misleading reports about fuel scarcity had triggered panic buying, leading to an abnormal surge in sales - nearly 3 times the usual levels. This, in turn, caused temporary stock depletion at some retail outlets.

The association reassured citizens that adequate fuel stocks are available with public sector oil companies such as HPCL, IOCL, and BPCL, and that supply chains are functioning normally.
