Bengaluru, July 12 -- The Election Commission of India (ECI) has clarified that voters whose names already appear in the existing electoral roll will not be required to submit any additional documents during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

The clarification comes amid public concerns over documentation requirements as the Commission undertakes the revision exercise.

According to the ECI, electors whose names are already included in the electoral roll only need to verify their details and submit the Enumeration Form. No supporting documents will be sought from such voters unless there is a mismatch in records or further verification becomes necessary.
