Mysuru, July 15 -- The Karnataka government has not taken any decision to organise the traditional Kambala buffalo race during this year's Mysuru Dasara celebrations, Minister Yathindra Siddaramaiah said on Wednesday.
He said the proposal was still under discussion and Chief Minister DK Shivakumar would take the final call after examining all aspects, including environmental concerns and logistical issues.
Speaking to reporters after reviewing preparations for Ashada Fridays at the Chamundeshwari Temple atop Chamundi Hills, Yathindra said Kambala was an integral part of Karnataka's cultural heritage, but there was no decision yet to include it in the Dasara festivities.
