Patna, March 30 -- Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday sent his resignation letter to the chairman of Bihar Legislative Council.
Senior JDU leaders Sanjay Gandhi and Sanjay Shroff visited Bihar Legislative Council along with the resignation letter of Kumar relinquishing the membership of the Upper House in the state.
Meanwhile, state Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Chaudhary said Kumar's resignation from the state legislature becomes a "constitutional necessity" after being elected to the Rajya Sabha, and indicated that due procedure was being followed in the current case.
