Patna, May 1 -- Former Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who often described himself as a "worker of the people", vacated his long-time official residence at 1, Anne Marg on the occasion of Buddha Purnima, marking the end of an era spanning nearly two decades.

Known for his deep reverence for Lord Buddha and his ideological inclination towards the socialist principles of Ram Manohar Lohia, Kumar chose the auspicious day for the move. He has now shifted to his residence at 7, Circular Road, where he had earlier stayed briefly for about nine months during 2014-15.
