Atul KrishanNew Delhi, May 25 -- National Investigation Agency (NIA) sources have revealed a major breakthrough in the investigation into the Red Fort car bombing case, uncovering an alleged conspiracy to carry out serial blasts across key locations in Lucknow.

According to the agency, the accused had planned coordinated explosions targeting high-security and crowded areas, including the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, Bapu Bhavan, Imam Bara, Lal Bagh, and Aminabad.

The NIA sources said the two main accused - Dr. Mujammil Shakeel and Dr. Shaheen Saeed, had travelled from Faridabad in Haryana to Lucknow between August 25 and 30, 2025.
