Panchkula, Aug. 14 -- The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has taken suo motu cognisance of the reported death of one person and injuries to another after they allegedly inhaled toxic gases while cleaning a manhole at a factory in Sector 25, Faridabad, and has sought a detailed report from the Haryana authorities within two weeks.

The Commission has issued notices to the Haryana Chief Secretary and Faridabad Police Commissioner, observing that the contents of the media report, if true, raise serious issues of violation of human rights.
