Chandigarh, June 6 -- The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has sought a detailed response from the Punjab government and Ludhiana Police following the death of three workers who allegedly inhaled toxic fumes while carrying out sewer-related work inside an industrial unit in Ludhiana.

The Commission issued notices to Punjab Chief Secretary K.A.P. Sinha and Ludhiana Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma, directing them to place the facts of the case on record within a fortnight.
