Shimla, Aug. 4 -- The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed the District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner of Sirmaur district in Himachal Pradesh to examine allegations of illegal construction of a Mining Inspection Post and weighbridge, besides unauthorized dumping of muck and debris near rivers and water bodies, and take appropriate action if environmental violations are established.
The direction was issued by the Principal Bench of the NGT while disposing of Original Application filed by Nathuram Chauhan against the State of Himachal Pradesh and others.
The order was passed on July 31 by a Bench comprising Chairperson Justice Prakash Shrivastava and Expert Member Dr Afroz Ahmad.
