Siliguri, April 29 -- The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has rolled out an extensivepreparedness plan to ensure safe and uninterrupted train services during the upcoming monsoon season, amid concerns over heavy rainfall, landslides, and flooding in the region.
As part of the measures, stationary watchmen have been deployed at vulnerable locations to monitor and track conditions round the clock, while flood-prone and washout-sensitive areas have been reinforced through embankment strengthening, improved drainage, and clearance of natural water channels. Water level gauges have also been installed atcritical points, especially in hilly sections, for real-time monitoring.
