Lucknow, July 25 -- Uttar Pradesh is set to get a new legislative complex inspired by the shape of a lotus flower, with the proposed Vidhan Bhavan in Gomti Nagar planned as a landmark symbol of the state's democratic identity.

The Rs 5,200-crore project will come up on nearly 200 acres of land and will house both the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council.The UP government has already allocated Rs 10 crore in the budget for the proposed new legislative building.

According to sources, the new Vidhan Bhavan complex will come up on the former Sahara City site in Gomti Nagar and will serve not only as an administrative facility but also as a symbol of the state's democratic identity. The architecture will reflect a blend of Indian cultu...
