Chennai, Aug. 5 -- The Tamil Nadu government will unveil a new Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) policy to facilitate private investments in this sector and transform TN as India's BESS hub,, besides a Rooftop Solar sjubsidy scheme and introduce smart meter systems, Finance Minister N.Marie Wilson informed the State Assembly on Wednesday.
Presenting the TVK government's first budget, he said the power sector will play a vital role in achieving the Government's vision of USD 1.5 trillion economy by the year 2036.
