Jerusalem, July 24 -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will travel to Washington next week for talks with US President Donald Trump at the White House, the Israeli Prime Minister's Office announced on Friday.

According to a statement, Netanyahu will meet Trump on Tuesday following an invitation from the US president, though the Israeli PMO did not provide further details about the agenda for the visit.

The visit comes as Washington and Jerusalem continue to coordinate closely on their response to Iran amid the ongoing war in West Asia.

The meeting will mark Netanyahu's seventh visit to the US to meet Trump and comes after two weeks of daily US strikes on Iran, amid the escalating tensions over the Strait of Hormuz.
